Arlene Mantegna, the creator of the Autism Families Together Network.
Arlene Mantegna, a successful business woman, and her husband Joe Mantegna, the well known entertainer, have two grown daughters, Mia and Gia. Arlene and Joe have always put their family first. Arlene is a devoted mother and wife providing ongoing support to her children and husband. She believes that a strong, loving family will provide a foundation for both her daughters to grow and become all they can be.
Joe and Arlene’s first daughter Mia has autism. Arlene remembers those early years with Mia, the many unanswered questions, and the need to find other parents and professionals to talk to. She knows that an important part of keeping families strong is having someone to talk to who can help answer questions and share your joys and fears. Families who have a child with autism are overwhelmed with the vast amount of information and they need someone they can trust to help them sort through what will be best for their child and their family.
Arlene is working with Families Together to create a responsible, caring network for families, that focuses on caring for all the family members. A secure, safe place that Moms, Dads, siblings and children with autism can to meet by phone, online, or in person to discuss common concerns. Parents can also meet with professionals who understand the needs of families.
